NUMBER 8 LC4

Louis Chevrolet's creative spirit made him one of the most inventive men of his time. Thanks to his inspiration, his avant-gardism and the many patents to his credit, many inventions, which still make our lives easier today, have emerged.

The Number 8 LC4 women's watch collection proudly follows in Louis' footsteps, offering two revolutionary innovations united in the same sporty design timepiece.

THE WHEEL THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING

Woman-centered concept

Louis's creative world was also inspired by extraordinary women, such as Amélia Earhart. We wanted to do the same and offer an extraordinary product for women.

The many brainstorms during the design of the project brought up a key point: the need to be able to easily and extremely quickly change your watch strap in order to match your timepiece to your wardrobe and make the most of it.

Change your style in 10 seconds

A concept of an extremely easy-to-handle strap fixing wheel was thus born. It now only takes four simple operations and less than 10 seconds to change the strap.

The dial, with its skeleton calendar, also incorporates the registered concept of a flying date, thanks to a reflector which is positioned under the day and allows a 360-degree reading of the date.

How to change the strap?

From now on, changing the strap on your watch becomes child's play:

        1. Rotate the wheel - A red dot appears
        2. Orient and remove the strap
        3. Insert the new strap with the same insertion angle
        4. Rotate the wheel again

Double security

The red dot on the wheel indicates whether it is locked or not. In order to guarantee the hold of the watch on the wrist even if the hatch is open, it is necessary to orient the strap in a specific position in order to be able to remove it.

The Number 8 LC4 Collection

At the heart of manufacturing

The centerpiece

With a curved and sober design, this watch, made entirely from 316L stainless steel, has been carefully polished to showcase femininity.

Its complex attachment as well as the wheel components have been machined with delicacy, thoroughness and extreme precision.

The multiple components of the wheel were then carefully and manually assembled.

Everything at its place

In order to make the system operational, the straps were also specifically manufactured, with their slot perfectly matching the wheel, and their axis and fixing screws.

To complete the style of this watch and highlight the flying date, the brass dial has been meticulously cut and then sprayed to affix its base color.

The meter and brand inscriptions were then delicately affixed by transfer.

"One watch, several styles"

The world of assembly

A delicate assembly

A modification of the movement is required before the watch can be assembled: the transformation of the date disc which will allow the patent of the flying date to be implemented and to be read correctly.

The various elements from the wheel are then attached to the case. The movement is linked  with the dial and the hands, and finally everything is put together by one of our experienced watchmakers, are then assembled with the greatest care.

The importance of the strap

This collection also requires a specific fastening system on the strap, and to do this,  the insertion of an axis and screws guaranteeing robustness.

This operation is also carried out in our watchmaking workshop, to ensure that all technical and aesthetic aspects are respected.

Only after all the parts have been completed are the watch, and its straps,  ready to be marketed.
